Members of the North Valley Wood Turners
live in the Northern Sacramento Valley; the meetings are held in Durham, a small town a few miles south of Chico. Members come from Marysville/Yuba City to the south, Mount Shasta to the north, and Lake Almanor. All members are wood working enthusiasts who have an emphasis on creating spindles, bowls, candlesticks, containers, and other useful objects on a wood lathe.

Anyone can be a member of the North Valley  Wood Turners. The skills ranges from absolute beginners through accomplished amateurs. A few members are professional or semi-professional turners. Please drop the club an email at NorthValleyWoodTurners to get on the mailing list for our monthly newsletter, or  join us in Durham Check top of page as meeting locations do change (view map) for a monthly meeting on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

President’s Message

Welcome to the North Valley Woodturners website.
We have recently completed a revamping of our website and hope that you will find it easy to use.  We have modified and simplified our format.  We have discarded some things that you may have found in our old format and added others that are, hopefully, more useful.  Additionally, we have expanded our monitoring of the website so that e-mail contacts are not left unread for extended periods.
The North Valley Woodturners organization is located in the heart of the California  north valley and primarily serves Butte County (including the cities of Chico, Paradise, Oroville and Durham) and portions of Glenn, Sutter, Tehema, and Yuba Counties.  Our club meets regularly January through June and August through November  on the secomd Thursday of the month at various locations listed on page 1.  In June we hold our Club picnic and In December we have a holiday celebration.  The dates, times and locations of these two events vary.
The turners in our club turn all types of projects including bowls, pens and projects, ornaments, sculptural pieces, utilitarian items and segmented work.  You will find past issues of our newsletter on this site containing photos of members work.
We look forward to hearing from you, and, hopefully, meeting you at one of our club meetings.
Keep on turning,
Bud Dilbeck.  President
